A Loyal Opposition

“I beseech you, in the bowels of Christ, think it possible you may be mistaken.”

Oliver Cromwell

We have morphed into an all or nothing society. A assemblage of vain and obsessive persons too self-centered to see any distinction at all between what they want and what the nation needs.

We have no Burke and No Pitt. We have no Jefferson and no Washington. We seem to have no party that recognizes the other party as maintaining either good intention or adequate intelligence.

But the parties merely reflect the attitudes of the population. We are going through a major recession/depression and what everyone is worried about is how they will maintain their status symbols and their cherished role of consumer. The devil take the hindmost.

What everyone seems to focus on is their cherished fetishes. The left has it's pathetic desire to smother-mother everyone and everything. The right has it's sad little attachment to the desire to do whatever the fuck they wish to do with no one telling them otherwise.

I would strongly suggest that we all grow up. To respectfully disagree with someone about political goals is the mark of an adult. To do it with style and thought is the mark of statesman.

What I hear in blogs and in the media and from the mouths of friends are the rantings of spoiled children.

Demonizing your opponent is the mark of a savage.

Grow up

Regarding demonization, I was startled by this bit from Palin, extreme even for her: "The America I know and love is not one in which my parents or my baby with Down Syndrome will have to stand in front of Obama's 'death panel' so his bureaucrats can decide, based on a subjective judgment of their 'level of productivity in society,' whether they are worthy of health care. Such a system is downright evil." Demagogue much? That Cromwell death mask weirds me out also.

I wasn't gonna touch this one, but...

First off, as one of Irish descent, you can take your Cromwell quote and stuff it. He was a tyrannical, genocidal maniac, who's corpse should be dug up and beheaded EVERY year, not just the once....

We surely could use a Washington today, because it was he that warned us against party systems, and as usual we failed to listen to sound reason.

As to growing up, believe me, I am! In no way do I consider rolling over to play dead, as you seem to suggest, as "growing up". That's exactly what the globalists want, a nice tame well behaved slave class.

Well I will not be a nice tame well behaved slave! NEVER!!! I will fight to the death for my Constitutional rights. I will not recognize unConstitutional laws, nor the "authority" of those who pass them.

NEITHER party has "good intention". They are the puppets of the globalist, and nothing more. They have no authority because they piss on the Constitution daily.

These people don't understand "civility". They take it as confirmation that their treasonous acts are what the people "want", apparently. They no longer "represent" the People, only their own self interest, and the interests of their NWO puppet masters.

I will stand my ground. I will fight back with every ounce of my being. And you're damn right I'll "demonize my opponents", because that's exactly what they are! DEMONS! Evil bastards! And they don't fight fair, so why the hell should I? "Moral high ground" leads straight to a cliff.

You sir are the one who needs to "grow up". When one's opponent is hitting below the belt, one must respond in kind. Or you'll lose....
