The really hard question

Is health care a right ?

Rights that require others to pay for them are so-called "positive rights."
I think they should be called "goods" or "conditional benefits."
They are conditional on a healthy, growing economy with plenty of excess left to fund "entitlements."

Classical rights are "negative rights": the right to be left alone, the right to have control of your own property and body, the right to not be detained without criminal charges, etc.

The new rights like health care are going to be proven to be ephemeral and illusory. This will cause violence.

It's a right to someone receiving it,
it's slavery to someone giving it.

It's not hard. Make the insurance companies do what they're supposed to do, reign in the blood sucking lawyers, kick the illegals to the curb, and we'll be good to go....
