Read this and think back to your days in Physics for Scientists and Engineers (Phys 171)

Wouldn't it be great if these folks actually proved that there might in fact be a "Luminiferous Aether Wind" that could be manipulated.

Michelson and Morley might be just a touch miffed.  Newton would just sit back contentedly

if this pans out... "But if the EMdrive is truly reactionless, then Newton is wrong. Also, Einstein is wrong, Maxwell is wrong and all of quantum physics is wrong."

Look, I am not flaming you, but I respectfully disagree.

If this is true, Newton, Einstein, Maxwell and quantum physics are not WRONG.

Merely incomplete.

Well, OK. That works. And I'm anxious to see it put to the test and that test demonstrate the effect. Unraveling the implications will keep the journals stuffed full of interesting work for as long as my ability to comprehend lasts.
And there's no better way to spend an afternoon than to sit down with a fresh pot of coffee and one of those journal articles.

I understood why the aether wasn't a workable explanation, but it always had a kind of intuitive appeal and I've never been able to shake the feeling that there had to be something more.
