I thought it was just me. I thought that because of my lack of education and understanding that I should not mention that certain great authors and some of their great books were boring. I had an epiphany back in the '70's and that was "just because I had wasted all that time reading the first half of a book did not mean I had to waste more finishing it". Not being obligated to finish something boring was a great liberation for me and I remember the exact moment. As I have gotten older I realize that all authors have good and bad days and the longer their writing the more chance it will contain both. I was once scolded in school because I summed up my feelings about a literature great as "crap". That may have been a bad choice of words.
