Clotheslines

It is summer and it is raining. Now, this is Oregon/Washington, but it still puts a damper on laundry. I try very hard not to run the dryer. If you are living up here, that gets difficult during the rainy season.

Got me to thinking, how did folks do laundry up this way in the winter?

Probably the same way my Granny used to, drying racks near the wood stove.

I hear that. It's been raining like crazy here, and when it isn't, the humidity is 70% or more.... Gotta run the dryer, or hang clothes inside.....

If you have a basement - basement clothesline. Folding drying rack. My frugal friend has an old ironing rack that is supposed to hold the ironed clothes after they have been put on the hanger - her holds wet clothes all about i inch apart. An extra rod in the shower & hangers.
